Mohit Raina is an Indian television and Bollywood actor. Mohit started his acting career with a sci-fi TV show called Antariksh and later went on to play a role in the Mithun Chakraborty starer film Don Muthu Swami and made a Bollywood debut with this. He also acted in TV soaps Chehra(2009) and Ganga Kii Dheej(2010). Currently he is known for his lead role of Shiva in the TV series, Devon Ke Dev - Mahadev(2011), which made him very popular and he is being as the real Lord Shiva..

Mohit Raina was born on 14 August and brought up in Jammu in Jammu and Kashmir state, where he did his schooling, he left Kashmir after graduating with a degree in commerce. Mohit first appeared in the modeling competition, The Grasim Mr. India, in 2006 where he was placed among the top five contestants. Mohit started his acting career with a sci-fi TV show called Antariksh and later went on to make a Bollywood debut with Mithun Chakraborty starer film Don Muthu Swami. Currently he is known for his lead role of Shiva in the TV series, Devon Ke Dev - Mahadev.

Mohit Raina Career:

Mohit first appeared in the modeling competition, The Grasim Mr. India, in 2006 where he was placed among the top five contestants along with super model Hitarth Bhatt. His acting career began in 2006 when he acted in a science fiction TV show called Antariksh that aired on Star Plus. In 2008, he starred as JaiKishan in a comedy movie called Don Muthu Swami, starring actor Mithun Chakraborthy in the lead role.He again returned to television in 2009 with another Star Plus show called Chehra. Mohit was also a part of the TV series Bandini (NDTV Imagine). In December 2010, a show Ganga Kii Dheej aired on Sahara One. Raina came back as the main lead in Nikhil Sinha's Devon Ke Dev - Mahadev, on the entertainment channel Life OK.

Mohit Raina is known for his lead role of Shiva in the TV series, Devon Ke Dev - Mahadev.The series focuses on the legendary Indian deity, Lord Shiva and portrays his journey from a hermit to a householder through his marriage to Sati. According to Mohit, the most difficult preparation was to put on weight in order to look powerful in the role, as the show depicts Lord Shiva in human form, but with all his godly attributes.

Mohit Raina hails from Jammu & Kashmir and is a very simple guy. He was among the top 5 contestants in Grasim Mr. India 2006,his cousin gave him the courage to participate as they used to tease him "Arrey yaar, tu toh hero ke tarah dikhta hai." His family was totally against his decision of becoming an actor, but after much persuasion they finally agreed and they are quite happy to see him as Lord Shiva. He had faced struggles and had given some flops before hitting the jackpot. His father passed away two days before this role was offered to him. And he accepted it as a gift from his father.
