Apple unveils iPad Mini Available from November 2 for £269

Apple has officially unveiled the iPad Mini. The iPad Mini has a 7.9in LED backlit display with a 1024 x 768 resolution, the same as the iPad 2, and the use of WiFi only or WiFi+Cellular models giving 4G LTE connectivity. Accessible to pre-order from this Friday Oct 26th, the iPad Mini WI-fi edition will begin shipping the following week on Friday 2nd Nov in Britain.
We’ll have to wait until ‘late November’ for cellular versions. The smallest iPad yet is also the most cost effective, with the lowest priced iPad Mini being the 16GB, WiFi-only iPad Mini, which will sell for £269. The iPad Mini is 23% slimmer and 53% lighter than the Third generation iPad and has the same 10-hour life of the battery. It can be held one-handed, as you can observe, and has the Apple A5 chip. It’ll run all the available iPad applications straight away – it’s the same resolution display screen as the iPad 2 – so that’s 700,000 specially-made iPad apps to select from.

The popular new Lightning connector is offered here, too, so you will need an adapter for existing dock connections. FaceTime High definition camera on the front, 5 Mega pixel iSight camera on the back and “ultrafast wireless” 802.11n WI-fi connectivity. The iPad Mini will also be provided with the choice of a 4G LTE mobile connection, though we will have to wait a couple weeks longer for these in Britain.
