Apple’s Lawsuit against Motorola Mobility Dismissed

Wisconsin District Judge Barbara Crabb threw out Apple’s suit against Google’s Motorola Mobility model over claimed patent abuse shortly before trial was to start Monday.
A week ago, Crabb questioned whether she’d legal authority to hear Apple’s claims and today she dismissed the case. No word yet if Apple will appeal. At problem is the library of patents Google acquired along with Motorola for $12.5B in May.

Apple claimed Motorola’s licensing practices were not fair. A Google representative told Reuters the company was happy with the order, while an Apple spokesperson rejected to remark. Apple and Microsoft have pursued a lawsuit against Google and allies like Samsung Electronics, which use the Android operating-system on their mobile phones.

Apple demands that Android is actually a copy of its iOS smartphone software, and Microsoft holds patents that it demands cover several Android features. Microsoft is set for a trial against Motorola in Seattle in a few days a case similar to the Apple suit in Wisconsin.

Introducing Apple Ipad New Mini

Apple unveils iPad Mini Available from November 2 for £269

Apple has officially unveiled the iPad Mini. The iPad Mini has a 7.9in LED backlit display with a 1024 x 768 resolution, the same as the iPad 2, and the use of WiFi only or WiFi+Cellular models giving 4G LTE connectivity. Accessible to pre-order from this Friday Oct 26th, the iPad Mini WI-fi edition will begin shipping the following week on Friday 2nd Nov in Britain.
We’ll have to wait until ‘late November’ for cellular versions. The smallest iPad yet is also the most cost effective, with the lowest priced iPad Mini being the 16GB, WiFi-only iPad Mini, which will sell for £269. The iPad Mini is 23% slimmer and 53% lighter than the Third generation iPad and has the same 10-hour life of the battery. It can be held one-handed, as you can observe, and has the Apple A5 chip. It’ll run all the available iPad applications straight away – it’s the same resolution display screen as the iPad 2 – so that’s 700,000 specially-made iPad apps to select from.

The popular new Lightning connector is offered here, too, so you will need an adapter for existing dock connections. FaceTime High definition camera on the front, 5 Mega pixel iSight camera on the back and “ultrafast wireless” 802.11n WI-fi connectivity. The iPad Mini will also be provided with the choice of a 4G LTE mobile connection, though we will have to wait a couple weeks longer for these in Britain.

Apple Seeks Ban on 21 Samsung Products including Galaxy S III

Apple has asked a federal court in a separate case to find that four additional Samsung products, including the Galaxy S III, infringe Apple’s patents.

In February 2012, Apple alleged that at least 17 Samsung products infringe its patents. In a court filing made in San Jose federal court on Friday, Apple added four more products to the list of allegedly infringing products that have been released beginning in August 2011 and continuing through this month.

Apple won a major victory over Samsung in a separate case when a jury found that the South Korean company had copied critical features of the hugely popular iPhone and iPad and awarded the US company $1.05 billion in damages.

However, Samsung is going in for an appeal on the judgement.

Apple MacBook Pro: Review

The 2012 MacBook Air and Pro lineups have been updated to Intel’s third-generation Core i-series processors, which are also known as Ivy Bridge. Now this new MacBook Pro with Retina Display starts out from there.

Features
The best is the new Retina Display. Its resolution is 2,880×1,800 pixels, providing a level of detail never seen on a laptop before. The highest standard Windows laptop screen resolution is 1,920×1,080 pixels, the same as an HDTV.

The MacBook Pro with Retina Display, while expensive, is the best all-around MacBook Apple now makes and if you need a built-in optical drive or Ethernet jack, both are available via external dongles or peripherals. It provides desktop-replacement-level performance, but is slim.
Price as reviewed$2,199
Processor2.3GHz Intel Core i7-3610QM
Memory8GB, 1600MHz DDR3
Hard drive256GB SSD
ChipsetIntel HM77
GraphicsNVIDIA GeForce GT 650M / Intel HD 4000
Operating systemOS X Lion 10.7.4
Dimensions (WD)14.1 x 9.7 inches
Height0.7 inch
Screen size (diagonal)15.4 inches
System weight / Weight with AC adapter4.6/5.4 pounds
CategoryMidsize
The new, thinner 15-inch MacBook Pro is not an ultrabook or an ultrathin laptop, nor is it a full mid size laptop. Instead, it takes features from both sides.

At 0.7 inch, it’s nearly as thin as a MacBook Air, at least the thicker end of that tapered system. But it’s heavier than it looks, closer to a Pro, at 4.6 pounds.

The speakers are on either side of the keyboard. The keyboard and trackpad are essentially the same as seen on the last several generations of MacBook. And the trackpad, with its multi finger gestures, remains the industry leader.

The Story Of Apple Inc Logo

One of the most easily identifiable logo is that of Apple, a company that in past one decade has changed the very definition of personal computing as we know it today. Just like the company, including its late co-founder Steve Jobs, Apple’s logos too have an unusual history.

Here’s the history behind the famous ‘bite’: The first Apple logo might seem like a sticker on a wine bottle, but it is not. During 1970s, the first logo was nowhere close to an Apple.

However, it still had something to do with apple. The logo was Isaac Newton. The image appears to be on a papyrus showing the popular anecdote from Newton’s life when an Apple fell on his head. Of course, the associated message was a quote from Wordsworth, “Newton… a mind forever voyaging through strange seas of thought.”

This Newton logo didn’t last for long and was replaced by a multi-coloured Apple logo bitten on the right side. This logo was designed by Rob Janoff and there are several stories that try to explain the idea behind this Apple logo. But the most popular is the one which says that it is a tribute to Alan Turning, the father of modern computing who committed suicide by taking a bite from a cyanide-laced Apple.

Then, in 1998, Apple introduced its monochrome logo. Though in the current design, the outline remains the same, but it now features only two colours: white and aluminium.
