Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif Together Again

There is good news for all Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif’s fans. Both Ranbir and Katrina will work together again in Imtiaz Ali’s next film. According to a leading daily, the shooting of this film will start in the first week of September 2013. This would be Ranbir Kapoor’s third film with Katrina Kaif after Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani in 2009 and Raajneeti in 2010.

A source said, “Neither Imtiaz nor (producer) Sajid Nadiadwala are willing to talk about it yet, but in all likelihood, Katrina is confirmed. Both the director and producer feel that she fits the bill perfectly. Things aren’t on paper yet, but detailed discussions have already taken place. Katrina also seems willing to star in the film.”

Meanwhile Katrina Kaif is busy shooting Dhoom 3 with Aamir Khan. After Dhoom 3, she will shoot the remake of English movie Knight And Day with Hrithik Roshan. After finishing these two films Katrina will work in Imtiaz’s film. Well, Katrina Kaif is all set to give sleepless nights to her contemporaries!

Barfi is India's entry for Oscars in Foreign Language Film

Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana starrer Barfi has been selected as India’s official entry for Oscars next year. In a press conference held a little while ago in Hyderabad, Manju Bora, the chariperson of the jury which nominated Barfi, said, “After watching 20 films from various languages, we have chosen Barfi as the official entry to Oscars from India. We believe that it represents Indian cinema and Indian culture in the right sense. More than anything else, it has a great story laced with human emotions.” Directed by Anurag Basu, the film is the story of a mute and deaf guy, a role which earned Ranbir Kapoor outstanding reviews. Priyanka Chopra played a role who suffers from autism and Ileana played the role of a Bengali women who’s smitten by Ranbir Kapoor’s charm. The film is doing rocking business at box office too and it’s still going strong in its second week. Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapoor had produced the film on UTV Motion Pictures banner. Interestingly, Ileana made her Bollywood debut with this film and this could very well work wonders for her career in Bollywood.

Saif-Kareena’s Wedding Bells to Ring in October!!

And once again, Saif and Kareena are in the news for their wedding… Reports have it that their wedding will take place in October this year.

Saif’s mom Sharmila Tagore told reporters yesterday, “The wedding would take place in October.” However, this time, Mrs Tagore refused to divulge the exact date. Well, this is not the first time that mommy Tagore spoke about her the couples wedding. Earlier too, a date was fixed by her.

She also said that the wedding will take place either in Mumbai or New Delhi and not in Pataudi, their ancestral home.

Samantha to work with Karthi in Biriyani

Actress Samantha is now the most sought after actress in Tollywood and Kollywood. And the fresh buzz in the tinsel town is that the lucky mascot is likely to play the female lead in Karthi's next's film "Biriyani" to be directed by Venkat Prabhu. Priyamani signs a bilingual horror film

Priyamani has signed a bilingual horror film titled Charulatha. The film is being simultaneously shot in Kannada and Tamil and it’ll also be dubbed in Telugu and Malayalam. Pon Kumaran, former assistant of K Bhagyaraj and K S Ravikumar, is directing the film. The shooting has already begun and buzz is that Priyamani is going to play a dual role. Charulatha is the official remake of a Thai horror film named Alone which was a huge hit. Malayalam actor Skanda is playing the lead role in this film, although most part of the film revolves around Priyamani. Apart from this, she’s also doing a big budget Kannada film titled Lakshmi.

Indian Government Ordered to Block 104 Musical Sites

The Indian Music Industry (IMI), an industry consortium of 142 music Companies, has obtained orders from the Calcutta High Court directing all Internet Service Providers (387 ISPs) to block 104 music sites. Court orders were obtained on 27th of January, 6th February, and the 1st and 2nd of March 2012.

ISPs have been directed by the court to block all 104 sites within 36 hours. It essentially has the order against Songs.pk as a sample. Apurv Nagpal, CEO of Saregama, told MediaNama that the first order was against songs.pk, and subsequent court orders covered the rest of the sites. The IMI made a case against each website, he added, with proof of piracy of content from labels by each site.

Indian content businesses have increasingly been taking the legal route to combat piracy: T-Series filed lawsuits against several major companies like YouTube (which was later settled), MySpace, Yahoo and Ibibo, and even got the founders of Guruji.com arrested. Reliance BIG Pictures began getting generic “John Doe” orders trying to force filesharing sites to prevent movie uploads, and getting some of them blocked. This is by far the biggest anti-piracy initiative till date.

How They Will Block?

The court has asked ISPs to block the sites using any of the three methods:

DNS Name blocking: which ISPs use to for looking up IP addresses corresponding to domain names. However, it is possible for filesharing sites to change their domain name: as we reported earlier,like Songs.pk renamed as Songspk.pk

IP Address blocking using routers: IP address blocking using routers. However, it is possible for sites to be hosted on alternate servers, once blocked, so this might not entirely address the issue.
DPI based URL blocking: “This mechanism involves configuring the ISP’s network management system to monitor traffic by means of Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) and reset or block a customer’s connection to specific Uniform Resource Locators (URLs) as defined in the network management system’s Access Control Lists” DPI-based URL blocking is necessary can be used to block only a portion of a website, for example, “www.example.com/home.html” only, instead of “www.example.com.”
What This Means

The information docket lists each of the 387 ISPs in India, all the 104 music sites, and certain legitimate sites in India, which provide legal options for consumers: Saregama, Nokia Music, Flipkart, Cyworld, 7digital, Gaana*, In, IndiaONE, Meridhun, MyBand, Raaga, Radio One, Saavn, Dhingana, Artist Aloud and Telugu One.

The intent is evident : at one end, IMI is using legal means to stop illegal downloads, and at the other, it is propping up legal businesses. This could act as a fillip for legal sites – perhaps users might choose to stream music over the cloud or buy it online instead of downloading for free. On the other hand, they could find alternate means, through file sharing sites and torrents. Nagpal told that the IMI will go after filesharing sites next, so it appears that the battle against online piracy of Indian music is well and truly on now, and music labels are beginning to take online revenues a lot more seriously.

This might be a consequence of changes in mobile marketing and mobile ringbacktone subscription policies, enforced by the TRAI, which might have impacted mobile revenues.

‘Damarukam’ in Title Controversy

Away from financial troubles and the missing of rapport between hero Nagarjuna cum producer Dr. Venkat, here is new trouble for damarukam. This film is in making stages from a long time with highest ever budget invested on Nags socio fantasy flick, directed by Srinivas Reddy with Anushka as heroine. As per media correspondents, damarukam was the title actually registered by a group of amateur film makers who have begun the shoot and completed half of the film based on social issues.

Pramod Kumar is Producer and Navin Kalyan is director who registered damarukam title in Film Chamber on the name of Aarnav Production banner in 2008. Later on they paid money for two years of title renewal. Due to financial hurdles and an accident to producer, shooting was halted for an year. With RR Movie Makers having announced the film with same damarukam as title, they are literally in shock and approached Film Chamber with nothing of an outcome in their favor.

Film Chamber Officials say, Pramod and Navin failed to renewal the title and did not report the Chamber on progress of their film. Thus, the same tile has been transferred to RR Movie Makers. However, Aarnav Productions are planning to go for a legal course of action to retain their title. Some say that, damarukam was registered by Aarnav while RR Movie Makers are coming with Dhamarukam. There is a difference of alphabet h in both the titles.

'Padaharella Vayasu' With Sridevi's Daughter

It is many years since Sridevi has been seen onscreen but the demand and fan following for her remains intact. Now that she has passed her prime, many are eagerly waiting to see Sri’s daughter Jahnavi who is almost like her replica. And an interesting news has been making rounds lately.

It is heard that Sridevi is planning to go for a trilingual and launch Jahnavi. This would be through the remake of her golden hit ‘Padaharella Vayasu’. Sridevi did that film in the year 1978 and now it is 2012. Obviously it will flop if the film is made with the mindset of the 1978 girl.

So, the story will be about the present day 16 year old girl and her mindset with the same title. If all this is true then it is indeed going to be a dream debut for Jahnavi. The Tamil version was titled as ‘Padhinaaru Vayathinile’ while the Hindi version was titled as ‘Solah Baras’.

Earlier, many producers have auctioned weapons like Axe etc used by other heroes, but Pawan set the trend of selling t-shirts, caps, bands etc from Johnny movie in 2003.

Bollywood 'Arundhati' Is Ready
