Gautham Menon’s ‘Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu’ has released today across the world. The movie has Samantha and Nani in the lead roles and maestro Ilayaraja has composed the music. The Telugu version of the film has been produced by C. Kalyan. With Gautham Menon and Samantha in the project, expectations are naturally high. So let us see how the movie is.
 

Story :
The romantic lives of two people – Varun (Nani) and Nithya (Samantha), are chronicled in this film from their school days until their adult lives. They fall in love multiple times and keep breaking up over minor issues. But deep down, they are so madly in love with each other that they keep giving themselves another chance.

The story of YVM traces these breakups and patch-ups. Career, family obligations, selfishness, ego and other human emotions play their part in shaping up this journey. Towards the very end, Varun and Nithya are faced with the prospect of going their separate ways permanently.

What they decide to do at this point is what ‘Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu’ is all about.

Plus Points :
Samantha is the real star of the movie and without her, this film will not work. She is simply gorgeous. What is surprising is her ability to portray three different stages of her life so convincingly. She is cute as a school student, attractive as a college girl and quite vulnerable as the social worker. Her performance in the dying stages of the movie

Nani has come up with a realistic and convincing performance in the movie. But he keeps getting overshadowed by Samantha. More than a glamorous actor, Nani is a good performer and this film proves it again.

Krishnudu has done a good job and his witty one liners liven up the proceedings to a certain extent. There are a few warmly romantic moments in the film, especially in the first 30 minutes or so.

Ilayaraja’s background score and songs give the film a very romantic mood.

Minus Points :
The biggest issue with this movie is the extremely slow pace. ‘Ye Maya Chesave’ also had a slow pace but it wasn’t this slow. Excessively long breakup scenes through out the film and the bad dialogues written for those episodes spoil the flavour. Except for the first 30 minutes, the first half tends to drag a lot. Even in the second half, a few scenes are good but the story continues to be in limbo for most of the time.

During such emotional confrontations, the expression on the faces of the actors are very critical to draw the viewers into the drama. Despite having two very good actors in the fray, Gautha Menon has used long shots for these scenes. As a result, we end up seeing two people arguing while walking to and fro. We miss the emotions. This is very evident during the interval block.

Placement of the songs could have been a lot better. One gets the feeling that songs are coming in way too frequently in the movie.

Technical Aspects :
Cinematography is surprisingly mediocre for a Gautham Menon film. More specifically, it is the choice of camera placement that is bad. Editing is below par and many scenes are chopped off without any sequential flow.
Gautham Menon has succeeded in showcasing Samantha extremely beautifully. But as a director, he just scores average marks with this film. A tight screenplay and better dialogues would have helped the film a lot.

Verdict :
This movie is not a patch on Gautham Menon’s ‘Ye Maaya Chesave’, so don’t go expecting a similar flick. If you are deeply in love, you may find ‘Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu’ to be an OK flick. But for regular movie goers, the film is too slow to offer any real entertainment. Samantha’s gorgeous looks and brilliant performance are assets for the movie. But is it enough to save the film at the Box Office? That needs to be seen.

Director: Srinivas Reddy ia a mark for the Comedy movies like Adirindayya Chandram, Tata Birla Madhyalo Laila and Yamagola Malli Modalaindi etcc. But This is the first time is done with a star hero and he executed the movie very well with out any Boring

Music Director: Devi Sri Prasad became a soul for thismovie in Songs wise and BGM wise, as this is 50th movie for him, he done a very ronsponsible work in terms of music for this movie

Chota K Naidu Cinematography is Good

Graphics by Firefly are the main Highlights of the movie which created the Expectations to the audience and really those are top notch.

Editing by Gautam Raju is good

INTRODUCTION :

I would like start off by first paying my respects to Yash Chopra ji. Thank you sir for giving us many wonderful romantic dramas over the years. ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ has Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in lead roles. Music has been composed by A.R.Rahman. Let us see how the movie is.

PLOT :

The movie is a triangle love story that revolves around Major Samar Anand (SRK), Meera (Katrina Kaif) and Akira Rai (Anushka Sharma). We are first introduced to a broody and dispassionate Major Samar Anand, who is an expert bomb squad operative with the Indian Army. He has a sterling track record when it comes to defusing bombs. Akira Rai comes into the picture as a documentary film maker who is hell bent on making it to Discovery Channel’s elite film making panel.

She gets to tag along with Major Samar Anand and begins filming her documentary. Along the way, she comes across a diary that belongs to Samar and discovers that he has a sad love story behind him, involving Meera. She discovers that Meera, who is a very rich London businesswoman, leaves Samar and moves away from him despite being neck deep in love.

As Akira spends time with Samar, her admiration for the Major grows and starts developing into a romantic dimension. Life comes full circle when Samar heads back to London. A twist causes Meera to come back into Samar’s life. What happens then and why Meera left Samar in the first place is what ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ is all about.

PLUS POINTS :

Shah Rukh Khan delivers a good performance as the brooding Major Anand. He looks good in army fatigues. He is famous for his lover boy roles and he pulls off yet another one quite convincingly. Anuskha Sharma is superb as the hyper energetic Akira Rai. She is a big asset to the movie and her scenes with SRK are actually quite endearing.

Katrina Kaif is ok. She is gorgeous as always in the film and her character requires her to downplay her emotions.

The second half of the film has good pace and the first 20 mins after the interval is quite enjoyable. Songs have been picturized richly in typical Yash Raj style. There are a few moments of good humour in a few places.

MINUS POINTS :

The biggest issue with this film is the slow pace, which can get quite difficult at times. A run time in excess of 3 hours does not help matters either. The first half is where the pace dips alarmingly and atleast 30 minutes could have been edited out of the film here.

SRK and Katrina somehow do not share set the screen ablaze with their chemistry. One of the reasons why SRK – Yash Raj Film’s romantic flicks like DDLJ worked is because of the brilliant chemistry between the lead pair. SRK and Katrina do not have the chemistry of SRK and Kajol, for example.

The extremely predictable nature of the story and quite a number of loopholes in the script also spoil the overall experience. This scene is a good example. In a bomb scare scenario on the London Metro, Major Samar Anand (dressed in very casual clothes) walks up to the police officials and proceeds to defuse the bomb without showing any credentials. He tells them “I am Major Samar Anand of the Indian Army” after he defuses the bomb. Will British police officers allow an Asian man in casual attire to defuse a device without checking his credentials or asking him for an ID?

The climax could have been a lot better. Also, the reason for Meera’s distance from Samar is not strong enough emotionally to cause an impact on the viewers.

TECHNICAL ANALYSIS :

Anil Mehta’s cinematography is good. Namrata Rao’s editing could have been a lot better. As I said before, there is a lot of footage that could have been left out in the first half. Rahman’s background score is decent but we expect more when he is in charge. Among the songs, “Challa” and “Ishq Shava” stand out for their picturization.

As for Yash Chopra’s direction, all I will say is that this movie is not his best.

FINAL WORD :

Jab Tak Hai Jaan is a film that has all the ingredients you expect in a Yash Chopra film but somehow, it does not work out this time. The film is way too long, painfully slow at times and the magic is missing between SRK and Katrina. Anushka is excellent though. Watch the film if you can take the slow pace and if you want to catch Yash Chopra’s last flick.

Son Of Sardar (2012) Movie Review

PLOT :

Jassi(Ajay Devgan) lives in London and works part time. One fine day he receives a letter form India stating that his ancestral property is up for sale. Jassi decides to go to India and take care of his property deal. On the other hand Billu(Sanjy Dutt), is a land lord in Punjab who is eagerly waiting for any one from the Randhawa family so that he can take his revenge for his brother’s death.

On landing in his native place Jassi bumps into Billu and accompanies him to his house as a guest. Now to his utter surprise, Billu comes to know that Jassi is one the members of Randhawa family, for whom he was eagerly waiting for the past 20 years. A fuming Billu rages to kill Jassi, but suddenly stops because of his age old tradition of not causing any bloodshed in the house. Finally, he decides to wait for Jassi to come out, so that he can complete his revenge. Now what happens to Jassi, who is unaware of this tricky situation? Does he come out of the house? and Whether Billu succeeds in taking his revenge? That forms the rest of the story.

PLUS POINTS : 

Ajay Devgan has chosen a very interesting film from the south, and has beautifully set it in Punjab. He once again proves what a versatile actor he is, and is excellent in the movie. Being a Punjabi himself, Ajay has portrayed this character to the best of his capabilities. He is particularly good in comedy scenes and packs a punch in the climax. Sanjay Dutt looks stunning and magnanimous as Billu the bad guy. His screen presence and comedy timing only makes this film more gripping. First half of the movie is highly entertaining with songs only adding to the excitement.

Sonkashi looks drop dead gorgeous and plays her part well. Scenes between Sanjay Dutt and Juhi Chawla are quite funny, and have also been written well. Mukul Dev and Vindu Dara Singh as Sanjay Dutt’s brothers are hilarious. The film has a total feel good effect right throughout. One liners mouthed by Sanjay Dutt are innovate and highly entertaining. Salman Khan’s cameo and special song is very peppy and foot tapping.

MINUS POINTS : 

The only drawback is the lengthy climax. It has been dragged out for no reason. There are some over the top situations in terms of fights and comedy. If they could have been slightly altered, SOS would have been more entertaining. The love track between Sonaksi and Ajay could have been a lot better.

TECHNICAL ANALYSIS : 

Scenes set in Punjab and the whole family atmosphere is showcased very entertainingly. The whole movie’s set up is lively and colorful. Songs in the movie are set to be a big bonus. All the four songs are superb and particularly Raja Rani and Bichdan. Cinematography is stunning and the locations chosen are also apt. Dialogues need a special mention. They have been written well, especially the ones written for Sanjay Dutt.

The whole Punjabi flavor has been reflected well in the costumes, dialogues and in locations. Screenplay is tight and so is the editing. Director Ashwini Dheer has stuck to the plot and never lets your attention wary. Songs, dance, music and entertainment this movie has everything. Though action has been over the top it has been stylized well.

VERDICT : 

On the whole, Son of Sardar is one film which has wholesome entertainment all over. Songs, comedy, action and romance this movie has everything. This movie brings back the age old formula of family entertainers bck in action. SOS is bound to do well everywhere, but particularly well in the northern belts of India. A perfect Diwali gift, go watch this film with your whole family and celebrate Diwali in Punjabi style.

Story: A youthful tale, the story is set on the backdrop of the St Theresa High School, Dehradun and here are Abhimanyu Singh (siddharth) and Rohan (varun) who come from totally opposite backgrounds. Abhi hails from a middle class family while Rohan is the son of a big business tycoon (ram kapoor). Both are good friends but their target is only one thing-to win the ‘Student Of The Year’ trophy. The story takes a turn with the arrival of Shanaya (alia) who is Rohan’s childhood sweetheart but Abhi falls for her and she also reciprocates silently. What happens after that forms the rest of the story. Presentation: The director has come up with a contemporary storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was energetic.  The dialogues were youthful, the script was effective and the screenplay was gripping. Background score was excellent and three songs were superb. Cinematography was mesmerizing. Editing was crisp and could have been sharp in the second half. Costumes were trendy and stylish while the art department was excellent. Varun Dhawan was versatile and impressive while Siddharth was confident and at ease. Alia Bhatt has got an innocent sex appeal and juicy oomph factor. Ram Kapoor is fabulous. Rishi Kapoor was mindblowing. Kayoze Irani was cool. Ronit Roy made his presence felt. Others did their bit as required and added value. Conclusion: The film is a complete youthful entertainer but the elements of friendship, romance, competition, feelings have been very well crafted. While the first half goes on a lighter mode with elements of comedy, romance and few songs, the second half gets into some emotional drama with a sentiment angle. Overall, this is a film which is a perfect recipe for youngsters and at the box office, this is sure to create some noise. Verdict: Entertaining and enjoyable youthful treat, youngsters will like it

Story:
Ramachandra (Sachin Khedekar) is a scientist in genetics. He used to perform experiments on genetics and finally make baby designing experiment on his own wife. Due to some problems his wife delivers the babies who are conjoined with a single heart. They are vimal (Suriya) and Akhil (suriya). Then after his father start a baby milk powder (Energion) whick clicks good. Later both twins come to met with Anjali (Kajal Agarwal),both of them start loving kajal and kajal fall for the behaviour of Vimal.

To know the secret of the milk powder the Russai sends a spy , he met wid kajal and suriya  and try to know the details of the powder , meanwhile the Russian reporter is killed by someone and vimal also will die in a accident. Later akhil try to find the mystery behind there death and will go to the Russia with anjali. There he knows the secret about the milk powder that it contains some dangerous substances like steroids which will affect on future generations of india. Who is behind this? what happend to journalist? why vimal dead? completes the remaining story.

Plus points:

Kv Anand Direction and story is wonderful and it the major plus point of the movie.Surya excellent performace and Kajal agarwal galmour are two hands for the sucess of this movie . Harris music and background score is fantastic. comedy scenes are good. Costumes are good.

Minus Points:

The second half seemed to be dragged and become somewhat bore. The songs are little resembles the previous movie songs.

Overalla Analysis:

The BROTHERS movie is excellent movie to watch,suriya done good acting performance as twins and he may get award for his acting. so now stop reading the reviews and queue for the tickets with a popcorn.
