Nivio Now In India


Nivio is a Cloud computing services provider for students, consumers, and small businesses. Headquartered in Palo Alto, Silicon Valley, the company was founded in 2004.
Online desktop service Nivio is formally getting launched in India on April 10th, this year. This will benefit the student fraternity largely in its initial operations. The student version will cost less than Rs 200 and will give access to Windows and MS Office on any platform.  The company has already partnered with over 70 system integrators (SIs) and value added resellers (VARs), and is looking at more as their key target will be small business in Tier 2 and 3 towns. This was disclosed by Sachin Dev Duggal, co-founder and chief wizard of the company.

This is the world’s first Windows-based online desktop service, and enables customers to access personal desktop from any device connected to the internet. The other founder Saurabh P Dhoot is the nephew of Videocon Chairman Venugopal Dhoot. The cloud computing pioneer raised $ 21 Million from Videocon and AEC Partner.

The company has already partnered with over 70 system integrators (SIs) and value added resellers (VARs), and is looking at more as their key target will be small business in Tier 2 and 3 towns.

They already have over 100 business and utility applications for its subscribers; however, this number is likely to go upto 5,000 in the next 14 months, informed Duggal. Nivio (a Sanskrit word, which means 'all encompassing'), besides offering their service directly, are also likely to partner with telecom operators including Airtel and Videocon, where the service bill to customer will be part of the regular phone bill.(With inputs from internet- AarKay)
