Story: An inspiring tale, the story begins with Sashi (sridevi) who is a typical Indian housewife devoted to homely chores and taking care of family. However, she cannot read and write English and due to that she is looked down upon even by her young daughter. But Sashi makes fantastic laddoos and she also runs a home business. The story takes a turn when she has to go to New York to help with a relatives wedding. Due to her language problem, she faces lot of challenges. Then she decides to learn English and joins secretly for a four week crash course in USA. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Presentation: The director has come up with an interesting storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was excellent.  The dialogues were good and sensible, the script was matured and the screenplay was tight. Background score was good and two songs were effective. Cinematography was top notch. Editing was required at few places but still it was neat. Costumes were natural and stylish while the art department was impressive. It was Sridevi’s show all the way and she has delivered to excellence. Adil Hussain was effective, Priya Anand made her presence felt, Mehdi Nebbou was very good, Sivansh Kotia was lovable. Amitabh in his cameo scores the brownie points.
Conclusion: The film marks the comeback of Sridevi after a long hiatus and it looks like she has taken it from where she left and struck gold. While the first half goes about with elements of comedy and some drama, it is the second half which is quite touching and entertaining. Overall, this is a film which is simple but has lot of depth for the audience to relish. At the box office, the film has got it all to score big so this would be a success.
Verdict: Sridevi strikes with a bang!!
